Features bold red lettering against a black background with the classic Star Wars logo above the abandoned film title.

Before its theatrical release on May 25, 1983, the third installment of the original Star Wars trilogy was promoted under the title Revenge of the Jedi. Producer Howard Kazanjian reportedly felt that the original title, Return of the Jedi, sounded too weak, prompting George Lucas to adopt Revenge of the Jedi during pre-release development and marketing. However, Lucas ultimately reversed the decision, reasoning that Jedi do not seek revenge, as vengeance contradicts their philosophy and is associated with the dark side of the Force.

The title change occurred after promotional materials had already been developed, including posters, advertisements, and merchandise featuring the Revenge of the Jedi name. These early designs have since become recognizable pieces of Star Wars history and are especially popular among collectors of original trilogy memorabilia.

This 2.25" pinback button features the iconic red-and-black Revenge of the Jedi logo, making it a great collectible for fans of George Lucas, vintage science fiction, and Star Wars movie memorabilia.

Good vintage condition with visible surface scratches, scuffs, and edge wear consistent with age.
