Tested Canon PowerShot SD1000 (Digital ELPH) in silver. The camera powers on and all basic functions operate, including the lens, zoom, autofocus, flash, LCD, buttons, menus, and video recording.
However, the camera has a significant image quality issue. During testing, nearly all still photos were severely overexposed regardless of lighting conditions, both indoors and outdoors. Resetting the camera to factory settings did not resolve the issue. In addition, horizontal banding is visible in many images. Because of this, I believe the camera has an internal imaging or exposure-related fault. Surprisingly, the video feature is unaffected and looks great! Sample photos included taken from this camera exhibiting the issues.
I have not attempted any repairs or further troubleshooting beyond factory reset and normal testing.
