Authentic 1970s NASCAR Winston Racing Series jacket worn by legendary flagman Jack Massie. This white cotton/poly blend starter’s jacket features red embroidered text with his name and “Starter” title, a bold Winston Racing Series patch, and a sleeve flag pocket with red, white, and yellow paneling—used to hold flags during races for quick access. Red piping along the zipper and a classic oversized ring pull complete the unmistakable official track style.

Made by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. in Winston-Salem, NC, the brand that famously sponsored NASCAR’s Winston era from 1971 through the early 2000s.

The starter in NASCAR is the official responsible for waving the flags that signal race starts, cautions, finishes, and other critical race status updates. Positioned high above the track on the flag stand, the starter plays a key role in race communication and safety. Jack Massie served in this position for over 50 years at historic tracks like Martinsville, Richmond, and Daytona, becoming a recognizable fixture in the Southeast racing scene.
