How to Activate a Wein Cell
Wein Cells are shipped inactive to preserve their shelf life. Remove the pull tab at least 30 minutes before installing the battery. Removing the tab exposes the zinc-air cell to oxygen and activates it.
Once the tab has been removed, the battery will continue to discharge even when it is removed from the camera or the camera is switched off. For that reason, do not remove the tab until you're ready to use the battery.
