Vintage 1981 Minolta Hi-Matic AF2 autofocus 35mm point-and-shoot film camera. An early example of the transition from traditional manual-advance cameras to the increasingly automatic compact cameras of the 1980s, the Hi-Matic AF2 combines autofocus and automatic exposure with a manual film advance lever and rewind crank.
Features a fixed Minolta 38mm f/2.8 lens and active infrared autofocus system. The camera automatically controls exposure using its built-in CdS light meter, while focus-zone indicators in the viewfinder show the approximate distance selected by the autofocus system.
The built-in pop-up electronic flash can be activated when needed for indoor or low-light shooting. Unlike later motorized point-and-shoot cameras, film is advanced manually after each exposure and rewound manually at the end of the roll, giving the AF2 a more traditional shooting experience while retaining the convenience of autofocus and automatic exposure.

Condition:
Tested and working with the exception of the film counter, which is not functioning properly. This does not prevent the camera from advancing, shooting, or rewinding film, but the counter should not be relied upon to keep track of exposures.
The light seals also show age and could benefit from replacement. We recommend replacing the seals before regular use to help prevent potential light leaks.
