Vintage 2000 Canon EOS ELAN 7 autofocus 35mm SLR film camera paired with a Canon EF 28–90mm f/4–5.6 USM zoom lens. Introduced near the end of the 35mm film era, the ELAN 7 is an advanced enthusiast-level Canon SLR offering sophisticated autofocus and metering, full manual controls, and compatibility with Canon’s extensive EF lens system.
The EOS ELAN 7 features a 7-point autofocus system with selectable AF points and multiple focusing modes. Its 35-zone TTL metering system supports evaluative, partial, and center-weighted metering for substantially more exposure control than a basic automatic film SLR.
Exposure modes include Program Auto, Aperture Priority (Av), Shutter Priority (Tv), and full Manual, along with automatic shooting modes. The electronically controlled shutter reaches speeds up to 1/4000 second, and the camera can shoot continuously at approximately 4 frames per second.
The ELAN 7 uses Canon’s EF interchangeable lens mount, giving it access to a huge selection of Canon EF autofocus lenses originally designed for the EOS system.
Included is a period-correct Canon EF 28–90mm f/4–5.6 USM lens, also introduced in 2000. Its versatile range covers wide-angle through short telephoto perspectives for everyday shooting, travel, landscapes, street photography, and portraits. The lens incorporates an aspherical element and uses Canon’s Ultrasonic Motor (USM) for quick and quiet autofocus.
