This camera has been fully tested and is working properly. A new battery has been installed. The shutter fires correctly, flash charges and fires, motorized film advance is smooth, and autofocus locks as intended.
Cosmetic note: The original front faceplate is missing (see photos). This does not affect performance and is reflected in condition and pricing.
🔊 Voice Guidance (“Talker”) Feature
With the voice switch turned ON, the camera provides spoken prompts when you half-press the shutter button. The voice system is not constant narration — it activates only when needed and mirrors the camera’s internal warning indicators.
Documented voice prompts include:
• “Load film” – Triggered if no film is detected or the film is not loaded properly.
• “Too dark — use flash” – When the light meter determines the scene requires flash for proper exposure.
• “Check distance” – When autofocus cannot lock focus (subject too close, too far, or obstructed).
The voice can be toggled OFF via the rear switch if you prefer silent operation. Even with the voice disabled, the camera still provides standard visual LED indicators in the viewfinder.
This feature was designed to help prevent common shooting mistakes and makes the Talker a standout piece of late-80s consumer tech — practical, slightly quirky, and very collectible today.
