Vintage 1995 Nikon AF Nikkor 85mm f/1.4D IF professional portrait lens for Nikon F-mount film and digital SLR cameras. Made in Japan, this premium autofocus lens features a fast f/1.4 maximum aperture, internal focusing, and Nikon's renowned portrait-oriented optical design.
Introduced in December 1995, the AF Nikkor 85mm f/1.4D IF became one of Nikon's most respected professional portrait lenses. Known for its smooth background rendering, beautiful bokeh, and shallow depth of field, this lens was designed for portrait, wedding, editorial, and low-light photography.
Its optical construction consists of 9 elements in 8 groups, with a nine-blade rounded diaphragm that produces attractive out-of-focus highlights. The Internal Focusing (IF) design, traditional aperture ring, and screw-drive autofocus system reflect Nikon's professional lens engineering during the transition from film to digital photography.
This example includes the original gold Nikon retail box, molded Styrofoam packaging, Nikon lens hood, front and rear lens caps, original instruction manual, and warranty documentation.

Camera Compatibility
Compatible with Nikon F-mount 35mm film SLR cameras and many Nikon digital SLR cameras.
Important: This lens uses Nikon's screw-drive autofocus system and does not have a built-in autofocus motor. Autofocus requires a compatible Nikon camera body equipped with an internal focusing motor.
On Nikon DSLRs without an internal autofocus motor, such as the D3xxx and D5xxx series, the lens can generally be used with manual focusing. Metering and exposure-mode compatibility vary by camera model.
The lens can also be adapted to certain Nikon Z mirrorless cameras using an appropriate adapter, although autofocus is not supported through Nikon's standard FTZ adapters.
Condition
Good overall vintage cosmetic condition with visible signs of previous use. The lens barrel, focus ring, and exterior surfaces show minor scuffs, handling marks, and general cosmetic wear consistent with age.
The lens has been visually inspected. The front and rear optical elements appear generally clear, with some minor dust or small specks visible under close examination. No obvious significant scratches, fungus, or heavy haze were identified during visual inspection. This does not constitute a complete internal optical examination.
The aperture mechanism has been manually tested and operates properly. The aperture blades open and close smoothly without any observed sticking or hesitation.
The original gold Nikon retail box shows cosmetic shelf wear, including scuffs, scratches, worn corners, and edge wear. Original Styrofoam packaging and documentation are included.
Please carefully review all photographs for the exact cosmetic condition.
