Y2K Kerusso “Take the Deal!” Christian graphic T-shirt featuring a faith-based parody of the television game show Deal or No Deal. The front features an illuminated cross styled like a glowing game-show set with “TAKE THE DEAL!” across the center, while the back reads “ETERNAL LIFE” followed by Philippians 3:14 and the message, “This is the prize that God offers because of what Christ has done.”
The design plays directly on the central premise and catchphrase of Deal or No Deal, in which contestants must decide whether to accept the Banker’s offered “deal” or continue playing for a potentially larger prize. Kerusso turns that choice into a Christian message: “Take the Deal” refers to accepting salvation, with eternal life presented as the ultimate prize. The illuminated panels and prize-board aesthetic further mimic the visual language of the game show.
Kerusso is a Christian apparel company founded in 1987 and became especially known during the 1990s and 2000s for evangelical T-shirts that reworked recognizable advertising, entertainment and pop-culture imagery. This piece is a particularly Y2K example, combining the look and terminology of mid-2000s reality/game-show television with Christian messaging.
Black Tennessee River cotton T-shirt with Kerusso branding printed on both sides. Made in Mexico of USA fabric. Nicely faded and worn-in throughout.
