Known Issue (Priced Accordingly)
The zoom mechanism has one operational quirk:

Zooms in (telephoto) normally.

Will not zoom back out while the camera remains powered on.

Simple workaround: Turning the camera off retracts the lens completely. Turning it back on returns the lens to its normal wide-angle starting position, allowing you to continue shooting or zoom in again if desired.
Other than this zoom behavior, all camera functions operate as expected.
